Like many workers in the last number of years, Molly was made redundant from her job in the print industry. Through a referral she began to work part-time for Three Q in 2008 as a temp catering assistant in the many hospital units we supply. She turned out to be a key member of the temp catering team supplied by Three Q that helped make the opening of the Hermitage Medical Clinic such a success.
Professional qualification
Molly really began to enjoy working with the patients and upon discussions with Three Q management, she was advised that a professional qualification as a care assistant was the best long-term decision for her career. As members of Leading Healthcare Providers (LHP Skillnet), Three Q was able to facilitate Molly in the training required.Although she was an early school-leaver and had never previously sat exams, Molly was determined to take up the challenge so she began studying for the FETAC Level 5 programme.
One of Three Q’s clients was so impressed with her ambition that they allowed Molly to do her practical training, required as part of the course, during her shifts in their wards because they realised what a fantastic care assistant she would make.
Overcoming the challenges
Overcoming the challenges of balancing work and study, Molly now has her FETAC Level 5 and is a qualified care attendant. She achieved a merit in her final mark.She works as a care staff member with our clients and is particularly great on the day room providing entertainment and one to one service to the patients.
A story of triumph
