Blogging for gold

With the recent Olympics as a benchmark of success, it seems that only gold will be celebrated.

So it’s fair to say that going for gold is the only way to live.

And at this years Blog Awards Ireland, I have my eye firmly on the prize.

However, I’m not the only one fueled by Olympic spirit.

My entry this year has gold stamped all over it – not because my blog post is better, but because the little lad and his mam who consented to be written about and filmed – have hearts of gold and determination worthy of same. If I’m really honest, Bruno gets one too. You see, this post tells (and shows) the story of Aaron and Bruno; a sweet boy and his support dog. It captured that moment when boy met lifeline and when mam felt the first stirrings of hope.  You can almost feel the hope and happiness in the videos.

But this lifeline wouldn’t be possible without Irish Dogs for the Disabled.

Irish Dogs for the Disabled are a cork-based charity and they make dreams come true. That’s the dream of walking, of independence, of life. It’s a dream that many like Aaron and his family have.

This year I blogged for gold to match theirs and I’d love the votes to take us there. To vote, go to, scroll to CG Online Marketing : When Aaron met Bruno* and mark the check box.

*Please note that entries are in ranking order and not alphanumeric. We are around number 20 at time of writing this post.

I also urge you to read some of the fantastic posts on offer and also to read and comment on mine. It would be amazing to hear your views and stories, cause that’s what blogging and social are all about after all.
