Tell us a little bit about your business what you do, the benefits of your product/service and what makes you unique to the competition.
Pieta House offers those affected by suicide or deliberate self-harm an intensive, solution-focused, and entirely free programme of therapy by trained and accredited therapists.
Founded by current CEO Joan Freeman, a qualified psychologist, the aim was to provide assistance and guidance to those experiencing difficulty and who felt that they had nowhere to turn.
Since its official opening in 2006, it has assisted over 7000 clients and their families. There are currently five Pieta House centres (four in Dublin and one in Limerick)
The initial vision, which continues to be fulfilled, is to provide an accessible , community based service.
What are the stand-out moments or highlights to date?
Pieta House were honoured and delighted to receive the Ulster Bank, National Business Achievers Award , Social Entrepreneurship Category 2011 .
Our CEO Receiving a People of the Year Award 2011
Our Darkness Into Light Event receiving National Fundraising event in 2012.
Demand for our service continuing so that in 2013 we will open four more centres in Tipperary, Cork, Galway and Cork .
