The training programme covers areas such as overcoming challenges during the start-up phase, important business skills in the workplace, how technology can be used more effectively and perfecting business pitches.

It features talks from experienced trainers, two panels of entrepreneurs and technology experts, several networking sessions and peer-to-peer learning opportunities.

Oisin Geoghegan, CEO of the Fingal CEB, said that demand remains “consistently high” for ‘Start Your Own Business’ programmes and training courses in the region.

“In 2012, the Fingal CEB organised and ran seven different ‘Start Your Own Business’ training programmes, in addition to a one-day ‘Business Bootcamp’ and a national conference for senior entrepreneurs, all aimed at people planning to start their own businesses.

“Over 250 people participated in these programmes during 2012 and many have gone on to establish their new business.”

The two-day residential bootcamp is taking place at Carton House, Maynooth, Co. Kildare and the subsidised fee for all training, mentoring, meals, accommodation and materials is €95 per person.

Fingal seems to have its act together. iks this because it’s a relatively new CEB or is it just good leadership?
