The CPA Women in Business 2014 event took place at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (CPA Ireland) headquarters in Dublin on Thursday 24th July. More than 50 delegates heard from a diverse panel of speakers, including Julie Cobb, Stylefish, Mary Carroll, The Double X Factor, and Louise Glennon of the National Women’s Council of Ireland who spoke on the Power of the Positive Perspective, Developing Action Plans for Life and the Role of Women in Politics respectively.
Chairperson and Ulster Bank Business Women Can Ambassador, Geraldine O’Donoghue said:
“Ulster Bank and Business Women Can have been involved in the very successful CPA Women in Business events for the last number of years and we are delighted to sponsor the series again this year. It was fantastic to see the room full of successful women from across the business community. The speakers on the night offered some useful insights with an excellent opportunity to network among peers and colleagues.”
Speaking at the event, Director of Business Development with CPA Ireland Deirdre McDonnell said:
“Accountancy is no longer a male dominated profession and every day we see our female members excel in their chosen profession. We are proud to announce that we have achieved an equal ratio of male to female membership, making us one of the first accountancy bodies in Ireland to achieve gender parity. This event aims to support professional women and to highlight both the new challenges that arise, but also the many resources that are available, to support women as they seek to maintain a positive perspective and achieve a happy and fulfilling work-life balance.”
