Mark Hegarty created a new topic Live Limited Company Name Check Launched Online in the forum.Well, it finally happened. Over the weekend we went live with a new facility on our website www.irishformations.ie where you can check the availability of a limited company name. The Companies Registrations Office has rules about what limited company names will be accepted when you submit your documentation to form a limited company.
We currently work with Accountancy forms, Solicitors, Tax Consultants, and Business Start up advisors to process their volume company formations, and this facility is going to make their jobs much easier. Of course anyone can come to the website and fill out the form to register a company. It is our job to take the administrative burden away from our clients and direct customers who would not know where to start when forming a limited company. We look after all aspects of forming a limited company from initial contact, through compliance to delivery of the final company formation pack.
As always, we appreciate your feedback on the website, and the name checking facility. Try it for yourself on the link below.

Mark Hegarty replied to the topic Re: How did you choose your accountant?? in the forum.Hi Sharon,
Best of luck with growing your client base. I believe it takes a good Marketing, Business and Implementation plan which you should stick to. I speak to so many Accountants about this issue. For many new Accountancy practices its about wearing out shoe leather, and getting involved in networking. In this way they get to a point where the base creates new business over time. Be careful though, because some practices throttle back on the networking activity because they feel they are getting enough business from the current clients. There are Marketing plans for Accountants online if you do a search. I would speak to a consultant in your area if you can.
Try to keep yo your Marketing plan, and put a budget against it. Spend an appropriate amount of time on Social Media, but it should compliment your overall plan, not lead it. Social Media is very important, and SEO is critical as Denis has outlined in this thread.
Another important point is credibility. People need to know that you are credible. Offer tips & tricks through a blog on your site. Make people sign up to get a free download of a tips & tricks .pdf. Also, dont be afraid to sell yourself. I know Accountants can be intreverted when it comes to selling services, I know, Im married to one!

Mark Hegarty created a new topic New Company Formations Agency Opens in Cork in the forums.Hi all, we have not introduced ourselves yet. Thanks for reading.
What We Do:
Our business is www.irishformations.ie . Like many of you at some point, we have been preparing to set up the business for some time now, and it is now launched. It’s been a hectic few months, and the learning curve has been steep, but that’s the way to have it!
We provide an online facility where you can Form a Company, Register a Business Name, register for tax, or make various changes not only to the officers of a Limited Company, but also to the Articles of Association of your Company. We are a “Company Formations Agency” but our primary market is Company Formations.
Who we want to talk to:
We not only provide a facility for the public to use our services, but we also have a Business to Business channel where anyone who wishes to outsource this requirement (Accountants & Solicitors etc) We call these customers our Business Volume Users, and they are a very important audience for us.
Our Facility:
We don’t just want to provide the products of our trade, we also want to be an information hub through our website, and our blog www.irishformations.ie/blog
We wanted to provide a facility where users can see the progression of their product through their login account, and provide a place where they can download their documents at will. We want the Irish Formations Website to be an engaging place to go, where you can make an informed decision about forming a company. We love this environment in Smallbusinesscan.ie of course, and you will see more activity from us as time goes on.
All the best,
Mark Hegarty
We are very interested in your feedback on the website, and thanks for reading.

Mark Hegarty created a new topic About to start a new business? Consider this...... in the forums.Just wanted to post a few short thoughts on starting a new business. Starting a business is a daunting, but very exciting experience. Everyone wants to get an advantage when starting a new venture. Its critical that you get as much information as possible when considering to go out on your own. Make an informed decision about what you are going to specialise in, and how you are going to do it. Here are a few things you will need to consider.
Be interested in your chosen area: It makes all the difference! Being interested in what you want to trade will make the difference between being passionate about your business or not. People who you talk to will see your passion and its addictive!
Know your area well: Its critical that you know your business subject inside out. If you are not comfortable with it, research it as much as possible before you make that commitment.
Contact Professional bodies: Contact Local Chambers, your professional bodies, read industry publications to see where you can get an advantage in your field.
Create your business plan: It is very important that you document your business’ immediate future in a clear guide like a business plan. There are many many templates out there for anyone who wants to create one. Click HERE for a template plan.
Decide on your business Structure: Sole Trader? Company? Partnership? Know which you will be forming. be informed about this!
Get Insured: This is a must for all businesses and cannot be avoided.
Be Debt Free if possible: Not having any debt when starting a business is a clear advantage. If possible, clear any debt you have, and start fresh.
Network: Networking is a great way of spreading that critical work of mouth about your business. Set goals for networks that you join.

Mark Hegarty replied to the topic Re: Business bank account in the forums.Hi All,
Ive been with Ulster bank as a personal customer since 1993. I have never had a reason to complain until we opened a business account. The delays in setting up direct debits, & responce times from the bank being the biggest problems. Be Careful. Choose your bank carefully. I have worked in an operations role engaging with most of the major banks in Ireland. Dispite what I have said above, I have found Ulster bank to be the best so far overall. If you dont get on well after choosing Ulster bank, get a new Commercial Manager, and, talk to your accountant about what relationships they have with the banks. Accountants generally have a lot to say about the best services.

Mark Hegarty replied to the topic Re: How to get more clients... in the forums.Paul,
Thanks for that. I know a lot of professional service providers who dont ask for the business. They do great Marketing & Networking, and wait for the business to "pass in the net". You cannot compliment some one more than by saying "Id love to do business with you"

In fact because of that software I'm now horribly addicted
@proximowebs
If you run android (or check for other smartphone supported), Hootsuite is fab, better than Tweetdeck imo just for the smartphone market, you can upload images directly from your phone to Twitter account etc, it's top class, all free too..
