The EEP is a unique course designed to bring currently unemployed graduates and experienced industry professionals together to work in teams to create new business ideas and explore their feasibility. We're looking for people from a diverse range of backgrounds (engineers, architects, business people, scientists, IT people etc) that are currently on the live register to come on the programme. Its 8 months in duration and participants can retain their social welfare benefits while on the course. Rotation 1 (40 places) starts at the end of September 2010 and Rotation 2 (40 places) starts in February 2011. Participants will graduate with a ‘Diploma in Enterprise Innovation’ worth 60 credits on the National Qualifications Framework. We run the EEP in partnership with the Synergy Centre at IT Tallaght and the real beauty of this course is that it is designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs with numerous industry experts and leading business people coming in to work with the teams. There is also individual mentoring for all participants on the course to aid their progression to entrepreneurship, further study, or employment

The Institute of Technology Tallaght has introduced a new course targeting unemployed graduates.

Part of a partnership with private training firm Innovo, the college is looking to upskill 80 graduates or industry professionals from science, technology, engineering or business backgrounds.

The deadline for the first tranche of 40 applicants for the eight-month course is September 10. Successful individuals will not have to forfeit their social welfare payments while retraining.

Funding for the course comes from the €20m Labour Market Activation Fund introduced by the Department of Enterprise earlier this year.

Launching the course, Junior Minister Conor Lenihan said: "Human capital is the most important thing we have in this country."
