This group has been created for those businesses who are interested in entering into this years awards and want to share their entrepreneurial story. Last year saw close to 400 companies compete in 8 categories to be crowned the overall business achievers award winner for 2010. Andor Technologies emerged as the winner with some fantastic businesses entering nationwide.
The awards are designed for any business regardless or size or sector however this year we have extended the award categories within which businesses can enter

Innovation and Emerging Technology Award: Wastes Systems Limited (Omagh)
Waste Systems Ltd is an innovative company, which designs, manufactures and supplies turnkey systems and stand-alone machinery for the waste separation and recycling industries.
International Business Award: TG Eakin (Comber)
Based in Comber Co Down, TG Eakin Ltd was founded in 1974. The Company manufactures medical devices for the ostomy and woundcare industry and distribute internationally to 36 countries worldwide.
Agri-Food and Drink Award: Crossgar Foodservice (Downpatrick)
Crossgar Foodservice is one of the leading foodservice suppliers in the Island of Ireland, providing the foodservice market with a “one stop shop”. The product range includes poultry, meat chilled, frozen, grocery and non food items, offering customers access to over 10,000 products built around a core of locally produced products.
Social Entrepreneurship Award: East Belfast Mission (Belfast)
East Belfast Mission (EBM) is a registered charity, company and one of the longest established and largest community organisations in East Belfast. In response to local needs a range of services have been developed. EBM’s strategic plan was to adopt a sustainable approach to assist the organisation to move away from being funding reliant and generate earned income through engaging in a sustainable social economy business model.
Family Run Business Award: Island Seafoods Ltd (Killybegs, Co Donegal)
Island Seafoods Ltd. has been a family run seafood processing business for the past 25 years. Founded in 1986 by Mick O’Donnell, the company has employed hundreds of people throughout the years including family members. Due to a cut in quota and seasons getting shorter, Island seafoods Ltd has now launched “Atlantic Treasures” a value added smoked fish range for the multiple sector which ultilises more of its products in turn generating more employment for the surrounding areas.
Green Business Award: Glantek / Williams Industrial Services (Newtownabbey)
Williams Industrial Services is the lead partner company in the Glantek Alliance. Glantek is an unique collaboration of five NI companies, working together to develop and market clean (“green”) technology products and processes for waste, waste water and renewable energy.
Service Business Award: Guardian 24 (Belfast)
Belfast –based Guardian24 is a leading provider of lone worker safety solutions. Offering a complete suite of services, Guardian24 works with businesses to help safeguard vulnerable members of staff, particularly those staff who work on their own. The service can be used via a Blackberry smartphone, Mobile phone, Windows PDA and any specialist lone worker device.
Special Recognition Award: Esker Lodge Nursing Home from Cavan
Esker Lodge is a 70 bed nursing home in Cavan which provides a home for residents in a relaxed setting with caring courteous staff.
