Workplace Pension Legislation
Since October 2012 the new workplace pension legislation (Auto Enrolment) has been rolling out, starting with employers with large workforces and eventually applying to small employers from early 2016. The date the legislation applies to your business will depend on the size of your workforce.
This new legislation requires all employers to put in place a workplace pension scheme, into which eligible employees must be enrolled and a minimum contribution paid by both the employer and employee.
The new legislation has many pitfalls and the onus is on the employer to ensure it is complied with correctly, both initially and on an ongoing basis.
