Facebook Marketing – How to Get 3 Times More from Your Facebook Marketing Efforts

Facebook contest appIt’s not a secret – Facebook has matured and it’s now more difficult than ever before to attract your target followers (they are also called fans or likes) to your Facebook business page.

Have you noticed this as well? If so, don’t get upset, you are not alone.

“How do I attract more Facebook fans?” – our clients are asking us every day.

While there are many strategies on growing your Facebook followers, there is a strategy that brings more than just followers. It works with every business every time.

I am talking about Facebook’s Contest or Competition app. To make it simpler I will call them “competitions” in this blog post.

Facebook has lots of regulations around competitions, and most businesses do not know them. Just a quick note on that – it is important to know the rules of the game, otherwise Facebook might shut down your page.

Why do I love competitions on Facebook so much? Well, by running a competition on Facebook business page with a competition app every business benefits 3 ways:

  1. It attracts more fans and gets more “LIKES”;
  2. It collects the names and email addresses of those who want to enter the competition for further communication and
  3. It gives a viral exposure to friends of fans on Facebook through a share function.

If you follow this link, you can experience Facebook competition app and all its functionality:

Let’s look at what exactly competition apps do in few simple steps.

First step:

Once the Facebook Competition app is designed and developed, direct your target audience to that app. The first page of the Competition app is usually LIKE gating page. Unless the visitors first Like the page, they can’t enter the competition. As the competition is only for the page’s followers, they have to LIKE the page.

Second step:

In order to enter the competition, they have to give you their contact details. This way you can add your competition participants to your mailing list and promote your products and services via email and mobile marketing in the future.

Third step:

As part of the entry, sharing a competition with friends on a personal profile gives you a huge (and free) exposure. This works magic.

Once someone shares the competition, a post goes out to their personal profile’s wall, to the Newsfeed of their friends and onto a “real time ticker”. People on Facebook have an average of 338  friends. Would you like this sort of exposure?

With this Facebook Competition app, when combined with Facebook ads we saw likes growth to thousands fans a month.

While competition apps may be expensive and can cost you from €1 K to €10K a month to run a competition, there are third party tools out there, that will allow you to setup a contest for free.

This is just one of the Facebook follower’s growth strategies.
