Well, it finally happened. Over the weekend we went live with a new facility on our website www.irishformations.ie where you can check the availability of a limited company name. The Companies Registrations Office has rules about what limited company names will be accepted when you submit your documentation to form a limited company.

We currently work with Accountancy forms, Solicitors, Tax Consultants, and Business Start up advisors to process their volume company formations, and this facility is going to make their jobs much easier. Of course anyone can come to the website and fill out the form to register a company. It is our job to take the administrative burden away from our clients and direct customers who would not know where to start when forming a limited company. We look after all aspects of forming a limited company from initial contact, through compliance to delivery of the final company formation pack.

The site's logo isn't particularly memorable or clean.

The main page is far too "busy" so I really don't know what you want me to look at and click on.

Needs a bit of work. Would make it faaar less busy - it's a bite like you'd done the virtual equivalent of piling everything you think you need into a box.

You also need a strong call to action on the home page - preferably in form of an optimised H1 - not 'Irish formations'

Also, it's 'FAQs' not 'FAQ's', and 'It's a simple 4 step process' not 'Its'...

Thanks Anton. I feel the same way now. When we were putting this together we did a lot of research on what should be there as a "Snapshot" of information. When all was completed we looked again and felt that there was a lot there. I will be pulling back on the information as time goes on.

We are a little torn with this as there is a lot to consider when becoming a limited company, and content is key. Out initial presentation of information on the homepage needs work.

Thanks justprint.ie. Its great to get feedback from business at the sharp end of their expertise. I think this logo is going to get an overhaul soon. There is space to do this within the site, and it needs an overhaul from the ground up.

You really need to fix all the typos and grammatical errors on there - they look very unprofessional

Thanks for the feedback. Would love to discuss it further on the phone if you had the time. Basically, we are in the business of Incorporating companies, from first click, I would hope that visitors would click on the "Company Formations" banner on the right hand side. However, this site needs a video on how it works. When that goes up, I feel it will make a difference.

No problem. It might be tempting to pile everything on to the home page for fear or someone 'missing something', but that's not the function of a home page - its function is to describe clearly and succinctly what it is you are about, and then using the site navigation (headings then categories, etc) to let the user find out more.

If you are going to be looking to promote the site via an AdWords campaign or search marketing in general, give me a shout.
