TOPIC: Low cost recruitment solution?

Low cost recruitment solution? 1 year, 5 months ago #6324

I am currently looking to fill two staff positions, but find the online sites very expensive. I have also used FAS but dont seem to be getting the desired results. Can anyone please advise, on a low cost way, to advertise a job.
Many thanks

I've seen jobs advertised on Facebook. This may be cost-effective, but you could spend your day trawling through CVs to find suitable candidates. Would you have the time to do this?

I would prefer something more local, if possible, as I could be getting cv's from anyone in the world wanting to come to our wondeful country!!

You could ask your local uni's to send an email to their alumni, you can ask your clients to refer people with relevant skills and you can add the job detail to your website and linkedin. These are low-cost ways of getting quality CV's.

What roles are you trying to fill? If I know anyone with the skills who's looking I could refer them on?

Thanks for the advice Mags, I will look in to your suggestions. Re the positions, there are two:
* Office based sales person - ordering entry etc
* Field Sales position
Experience in the Office Supplies Industry is essential

Hope it helps!

I know a couple of people in office supplies, both are working at the moment but I will let them know you're looking.

Best of luck

Bear in mind also the Employer Job (PRSI) Incentive Scheme which came into force this year when you are looking at CVs. If you employ an ADDITIONAL member of staff, for at least 30 hours per week and for a min of 6 months, then you will not have to pay any Employer's PRSI for that employee for 12 months from the date of employment.

You must employ someone who was receiving payment from SW for a continuous period of 6 months for:
- Job Seeker's Benefit
- Job Seeker's Allowance
- One Parent Family Allowance
- Disability Allowance
or be on a FAS work placement scheme for min 3 months.

If you find someone who fits the bill but will also work well with your business, then you are onto a winner!

I would also like to suggest LinkedIn. Post the job or ask people for referrals from other. Another method would be to post the vacancies on twitter and ask for RTs

Re:Low cost recruitment solution? 1 year, 5 months ago #6533

Thanks for the feedback, I have added it to my linkedin profile

Thanks Deirdre! I have an ad up on the Fas website, so if I find a suitable candidate, I will go down that route
