Kilrea firm sets sights on export markets

A North West company has engineered funding from Invest Northern Ireland as part of a £100,000 investment to enable it to target export markets.

Hutchinson Engineering in Kilrea, Co Londonderry will be focusing on markets including the Republic in a bid to boost sales.

The engineering company employs

32 people in making precision engineered components for other manufacturing businesses.

Over 90% of Hutchinson’s components are either exported directly by the company or by its clients.

Increasing Exports

Managing director Mark Hutchinson, commenting on the new investment, said: “What we aim to achieve by this project is to increase exports of our own products and services directly to customers.

“This means finding new clients for our existing engineering services and especially for new and different products that we plan to develop over the next few years.”
