Plato Business Programme – Grow your business through by learning from other SME Owner Managers at monthly meetings facilitated by Large Company Managers!
Last Few Places Left on Programme starting on April 20th 2016.
You want to expand your business but don’t have the money or all of the skills?
It is not easy running a business on your own. Would you like to meet business people just like you and solve your business problems?
Plato is a not for profit business development programme that helps SMEs grow their business in a planned way. Funded by the four LEO offices in Dublin it provides the necessary tools to help you achieve your ambitions.
PLATO offers owner managers a business support forum where they can tackle the challenges and issues of today’s business world. Through a unique partnership with large “parent” companies, PLATO creates a confidential and safe environment where SMEs can benefit from facilitated group learning, business counselling and support so that you acquire the skills necessary to help your business grow and prosper. It provides an environment for owner managers to learn from one another and share their experiences at a monthly meeting for 18 months – facilitated by large company Managers from Ericsson, Nestle, Microsoft, and IBM and Pfizer etc.
The cost of the 18-month programme is 600 euros for 18 three-hour meetings – 54 hours of training for 33 euro per hour! To be eligible for this programme you must be 2 years or more in business with 2 or more employees. Your business can operate in any business sector.
According to a recent survey of Plato participants by the DCU Business School, 93% of small businesses are better equipped to plan specific management practices, thanks to the advice of bigger companies.
83% of those surveyed also said that they improved business productivity as a direct result of the programme, while 79% of small business owners, who responded, also said that they also increased sales.
Gerard O’Meara an Architect and sole owner of SBA architects which employs 5 staff is currently participating in a Plato Programme that started last year and said:
There are many issues common to all small companies, which need attention, and it’s very easy to feel isolated when critical decisions are required under pressure. I have been part of the Plato Programme for the past year and have found it extremely beneficial in this regard. All meetings are confidential and it is a great opportunity to articulate concerns and issues that require a more expansive discussion.
The agenda, and content, is initially agreed and set by the individuals with the large company facilitators simply framing this agenda into a coherent Programme to which they add their experience. We have had guest presenters at most meetings to date, to provide critical information and encourage more in-depth discussion in the various disciplines, for example, digital and traditional marketing, financial management, legal, to name but a few. To owners of small enterprises, in particular, the programme provides a terrific source of discussion, stimulation and information and I highly recommend it, at whatever stage of growth your company finds itself.
