Operating from a rural base in Ballymote, Co Sligo, online business Quickcrop is in its fourth year of trading and recently launched a UK website for export purposes.
Soon to be featured on the RTE One series Shopping from Home, Quickcrop runs a nationwide service for home vegetable growers. Its products are now being sold to customers all over the UK through the new sister site.
Founded by Andrew Davidson and Niall McAllister, Quickcrop is aimed at the novice grower providing unique products to ensure the first time vegetable gardener achieves success the first time round.
It supplies Irish-made timber raised vegetable beds, soil mixes, ready to plant vegetable seedlings, seeds and a range of gardening products.
The vegetable beds are manufactured in Co Sligo by the company through its local sawmills and timber finishers.
“Many of our products are not available anywhere else and because we are vegetable growers ourselves, we only stock the products which actually work,” said Davidson.
A large part of the company’s ethos is educating the grower and with this in mind the business provides a free video tutorial section on its site as well as its exclusive ‘Growmatic’ interactive software.
It provides ‘Growmatic’ free to all schools and community groups.
