Start-up Story: Flynn Admin

Flynn Admin is a Virtual PA Outsourcing Administration Services. We are a small business supporting other small businesses. We work closely with clients offering them a flexible service they know and trust.

Why did we start it

I have seen first-hand over a number of years how small businesses struggle financially. They often spend time on small tasks using up valuable time they should be spending on core competencies. But most cannot afford to have someone working for them. I believed there was a niche marked out there waiting for me to take the bull by the horns.

Where do we see it going

Flynn Admin’s mission is to be a recognized as a reputable brand name in administration outsourcing. Our goal is to build a business that clients will see as vital to the success of their business and a viable, cost effective alternative to adding headcount when it comes to administration.

What we have learned

I have learned that working for yourself is very hard work but so rewarding! Networking is vital to the success of your business to get your name and face known. I thoughtfully plan what events I will attend, what events are going to benefit me and my business and what I can learn from different businesses and speakers. I am very lucky to have met some great people along the way who are both clients and friends. It’s important to have a support network when working alone.

I use visualization every day in all aspects of my life to help guide me and to keep me motivated and focused! I believe that visualization is a powerful tool that we can use and best of all it’s free! I recently won Business Women of the Year Awards and go on to the finals in September. I feel very lucky to have gained this recognition at this stage of my business and strive to succeed!

Tips for other businesspeople starting out

1. Don’t be afraid of asking others for help, all they can do is say no!

2. Never fear failure! Some of the richest entrepreneurs failed hundreds of times before success.

3. If having a bad day/week, take time out, dust yourself off and get back on the horse!

4. Bring your personality into your business.

4. Be honest, trustworthy and professional at all times. You are your business and its greatest selling tool.
