Start-Up Story: Sweet Spot Sourcing

Differentiating themselves from a promotional company that offers more than just your regular branded pen is what prompted Fiona and Sue to set up their own company that specialises in the production of large volumes of own branded products. These products can be used in various different channels such as retail, on pack promotion or a gift with purchase.

Fiona and Sue established Sweet Spot Sourcing in February 2012, they bridge the gap between factories that have the capacity to produce own label products and the companies or brands that wish to produce their own product line.

Our bank has been hugely supportive and we received some initial funding from our local Enterprise board. We have also joined our local chamber and we couldn’t recommend this highly enough, its great to have the support and advice from similar businesses who experience the same “start up” challenges.

To date Sweet Spot have worked with a number of large brands within the FMCG and drinks sector.

Fiona and Sue have 10 years manufacturing experience between them, they work with manufacturing facilities worldwide, and are a keen supporter of local businesses and have found that there are plenty of manufacturing facilities in Ireland.

Fiona said,”manufacturing locally can be the difference between a project being viable or not, dealing with tight time lines is one of our main challenges, working locally allows for faster lead times and smaller volumes.”

Our future plans

Continue to grow our business and broaden our horizons to exports markets.
