What Women Want: Marketing Fashion to Women, Dublin

Guest speaker: Sandra Walsh

Sandra Walsh is the brains & the beauty behind the clothing brand Canopi.  It’s been a fairly hectic rise for this Irish entrepreneur, moving from 25 years retail experience to the founding, designing and managing manufacturing of Canopi.

After spotting a gap in the market where she noticed that women were self-conscious of their arms, Sandra designed Canopi Sleeves, allowing women to enhance their existing wardrobe.  Walsh quickly opened up the domestic market, establishing blue-chip retail accounts like Brown Thomas, Arnotts, Avoca, and other flagship retail names.  Now designing for women worldwide, Walsh has seen international sales develop and grow.

Last year, Walsh expanded the brand with Canopi Tops, a line of five simple, yet smart tops that are unique in that they have a UPF of 50, making them sun smart. An endorsement from Dr. David Fennelly, Consultant Medical Oncologist at St Vincent’s Hospital has made the brand stronger.

Sandra is a woman who embraces life and it’s challenges with enthusiasm and vigour.  Join us and hear her intensely inspirational story.
