Ulster Bank hosts 10th ‘Meet Your Neighbours’ event in Fitzwilliam Square in conjunction with the IDA.
Ulster Bank successfully hosted its 10th ‘Meet Your Neighbours’ event in conjunction with the IDA. The early autumn BBQ was attended by over 80 guests who braved the initial rain to join the event, where they were rewarded with sunshine, a delicious BBQ and an evening of networking amongst the FDI business community.
The event was held in the historic and beautiful setting of Fitzwilliam Square, thanks to EML Architects who facilitated. The numerous international companies were delighted to be present in such a unique setting as they learnt of the history and significance of the park and the surrounding Georgian Buildings.
Lisa Taggart, Relationship Director of the Ulster Bank FDI team, spoke of the Bank’s ambitions to be number one for customer service, trust and advocacy. In addition to outlining our edge in supporting companies trading internationally, she also spoke of the bank’s focus on customer service and support for our international customers.
Barry O’ Dowd (IDA Head of Emerging Business) welcomed guests to the venue and introduced the speakers for the evening which included some of Ireland’s newest US FDI businesses to set up in Dublin, including Ulster Bank banked GoFundMe.
The companies spoke of their experiences of setting up in Ireland and the ease at which they established their operations in Dublin thanks to the services and support of the IDA, Ulster Bank and other professional service providers.
Barry’s Emerging Business Team from the IDA were in attendance, including Sallyann Hynes, Emma Mitchell, Kevin Carroll, Ciaran Arthur, Gillian Lawless, Bret Harrington, Brian Breslin, Wesley Kelly, Aimee Williams and others. Ulster Bank were also very well represented on the evening, with the FDI team, (Lisa Taggart, Nashila Desmond and Darren Brennan) and many other colleagues in attendance including Kevin Farnan, John Dillon, Judith Boylan, David Halpin, David O’ Reilly and Derek Sheehan, all from Ulster Bank Corporate Banking.
A selection of some of the companies in attendance included; GoFundMe, Asana, DAQRI, Glassdoor, Hailo, Squarespace, Slack, Marin Software, Wrike and VE Interactive, amongst many others. There was also representation from the American Chamber, DCU Alpha, The Digital Hub, Dogpatch Labs and the US Embassy.
The event was a huge success, with the large attendance reflecting the vibrant local economy and plenty of business cards were exchanged on the evening.
As with all the ‘Meet Your Neighbours’ series, it was a great event for Ulster Bank to be associated with and allowed us to demonstrate how we deliver Help for What Matters.
